Which are you?

There are, quite simply, two types of people in this world.

Not in a philosophical, “nature vs nurture” sort of way. Nothing that deep. No, I’m talking about the real dividing line of humanity — the kind that shows itself at 8:17am on a mildly delayed train.

You know the one.

Type one: the person who sits down and immediately plonks their bag on the empty seat next to them like it’s a reserved guest. A silent, zipped-up companion. A barrier. A statement. “This space is taken, thank you very much.”

Type two: the one who clocks a crowded carriage, sighs inwardly, and moves their bag before anyone even asks. A small gesture. A quiet nod to the fact that, no, they do not in fact own Southeastern Rail.

And just like that, society reveals itself.

It doesn’t stop there, of course.

There’s the plane scenario. A fascinating microcosm of human decency at 35,000 feet. The window-seat holder — blessed with both a view and a wall to lean on — faces a moral crossroads. Do they claim the armrest as part of their airborne empire? Or do they graciously concede it to the middle-seat martyr, that poor soul wedged between two strangers and a questionable life choice?

Again, two types.

Then there’s the window opener. Not the dramatic, cinematic kind — just your everyday office or café window. Do they ask, “Mind if I open this?” acknowledging the delicate balance between fresh air and someone else’s carefully maintained body temperature? Or do they fling it open with the confidence of someone who believes they are, in fact, the thermostat of the universe?

You see where this is going.

Let’s add a few more for good measure:

There’s the person who lets the bus driver pull away smoothly before deciding to have an existential crisis about their Oyster card… and the one who fumbles at the last possible second while ten people wait behind them, ageing visibly.

There’s the supermarket trolley returner — a quiet hero who walks it back properly — and the one who leaves it drifting freely across the car park like a metallic tumbleweed.

There’s the group chat contributor who reads the room before sending 14 consecutive voice notes… and the one who treats it like their personal podcast channel.

There’s the person who holds the lift for someone sprinting towards it… and the one who repeatedly presses the ‘close doors’ button like it’s going to accelerate the laws of physics.

And of course, there’s the tea-maker in the office. The one who asks, “Anyone else want one?” — and the one who somehow manages to make a single cup while maintaining eye contact with everyone else.

Two types. Always two types.

Now, here’s the thing — we’re not here to judge. Honestly. We’ve all been both people at different points. Life is messy, mornings are rushed, and sometimes you just really need that extra seat for your bag (even if your bag, let’s be honest, doesn’t have feelings).

But these tiny moments? They say a lot. They’re little signals about how we move through shared spaces, how we balance “me” with “us”.

And that’s where we come in.

At marketingballoon.co.uk, whichever “type” you are, we can meet your needs. Just bear in mind — we can be a bit… obsessed. In a good way. We care deeply about what we do, and we won’t compromise on our processes or our identity.

That said, we’re also human. Flexible where it matters. Open to working with you, including offering payment plans that make things a bit easier.

No judgement here.

Whatever we do, it always comes back to one simple question: how can we make your day better?

Without losing who we are in the process.
