If you’ve seen The Lion King (and if you haven’t, please sort that out immediately), you’ll know this image isn’t about one character standing on a rock shouting, “I’m better than everyone else.”
It’s about an ecosystem.
The Pride Lands only work because everyone has a role. The lions lead, yes — but they don’t do everything. Birds keep watch. Meerkats spot danger. Warthogs… well, they bring vibes and comic relief, which frankly is just as important. Even the animals you don’t see on Pride Rock still matter, because the whole thing falls apart if one part of the system collapses.
Sound familiar?
That’s exactly how we see the world of software, marketing and digital work.
Some agencies are massive. Some are tiny. Some specialise in one very specific thing and do it unbelievably well. Others (like us) are brilliant all-rounders who know when to call in help. None of that makes anyone “the enemy”. It just makes the ecosystem richer.
The real problem only shows up when someone decides to be Scar.
You know the type. Hoarding work. Undercutting just to win. Burning bridges. Pretending collaboration is weakness. That never ends well — for them or for the Pride Lands. We’ve all seen how that story plays out.
At marketingballoon.co.uk, we choose a different path.
We believe it’s often better to hunt together than hunt alone. Sometimes that means collaborating with another agency. Sometimes it means subcontracting work out. Other times, we’re the ones happily stepping in as a subcontractor because we’re the right fit for a piece of the puzzle.
And yes — sometimes it means saying, “This client would actually be better served by someone else,” and making that introduction with no bitterness, no ego, and no secret resentment. Just doing the right thing.
Because our motto isn’t just a nice sentence on a website.
“How can we make your day better?” is something we genuinely live by.
That might look like:
Referring a huge client to an agency with a bigger team
Collaborating instead of competing
Giving someone directions when they’re lost (literally or professionally)
Talking to a developer who wants to go solo and giving them honest advice
Encouraging someone who’s doubting themselves
Or yes, occasionally feeding bread to an annoyingly persistent pigeon because… life
Not every good deed comes with an invoice attached.
For us, success isn’t about clawing our way to the top of Pride Rock and pulling the ladder up behind us. It’s about building a sustainable, enjoyable life while doing work we love — and helping people and communities thrive along the way.
The Circle of Life isn’t just a Disney song.
It’s how good businesses should work.
So if you’re someone who believes that collaboration beats competition, that kindness is not a weakness, and that there’s room for all of us in the Pride Lands — we’d genuinely love to talk.
